Welcome, incoming students!
UCSD AD Username, Email & Passwords
You have been assigned a UCSD Active Directory (AD) username, which you will use to sign into UC San Diego applications, including your email.
Example:
AD Username: bluefin
Email Address: bluefin@ucsd.edu
To set your AD password, visit: https://password.ucsd.edu
During this process, you will also be prompted to set up Duo two-step authentication using either your mobile device or a Duo token provided by the campus.
To access your UCSD email, go to: https://gmail.ucsd.edu
Wi-Fi Internet Access
UC San Diego offers several wireless networks across campus. GPS students are encouraged to connect to one of the following:
UCSD-PROTECTED – Primary secured wireless network. Use your full UCSD email address and password to connect.
eduroam – Recommended if you travel to other campuses. Use your full UCSD email address and password to connect.
UCSD-GUEST – Open network that requires no login.

Microsoft Office 365 (Free for UCSD Students)
Go to www.microsoft365.com
Sign in with your UCSD email account
Navigate to “Apps” on the left-hand menu > click Install Office on the top right
Follow the instructions to install
After installation, sign in again to activate your apps
